The Civil Engineering Department is one of the oldest and most esteemed departments within the MUBAS School of Engineering. Renowned for its excellent track record, the department consistently produces top-quality graduates who become pivotal figures in the construction industry, not only in Malawi but also across the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region.

Our Mandate
The department is mandated under MUBAS Act to train civil engineering professionals who are able to support the development, maintenance and management of building and civil engineering infrastructure and be able to generate knowledge and solutions to the challenges facing national and regional infrastructure for sustainable and resilient economic development.
